Climate Resilience in 2020 and Beyond
Climate resilience can be generally defined as the capacity for a socio-ecological system to absorb stresses and simultaneously maintain function and prosperity in the face of (and wake of) climate change. Moving forward from any stresses, communities ideally would adapt, reorganize and evolve to be as prepared as possible for future impacts of climate change.
With the rising awareness of current and anticipated climate change comes the desire for action. From local community action to movements at a global scale, addressing climate resilience has become a priority; although, it could be argued that more can and should be done.
- What actions, big or small, can be taken to move the needle on climate change?
- Who are the biggest and most influential players in the fight to address climate change?
- How can communities who may have limited resources become as resilient as possible?
